Ascent Trip ReportDecember 9th, 2017. Started 7:30am, finished 4pm. Successful ascent of Signal Peak. Done via Kofa Queen Canyon Rd and DPS Route C.
Camped the night before at a site on the intersection of Palm Canyon Rd and Kofa Queen Canyon Rd. Didn't want to drive the 7.1 miles to the trailhead since I heard it was more rough which was the case, definitely would need high-clearance. Left from camp at 7:30am and got to the trailhead at 10am. Reports on DPS Route C were true in that there really is the slightest of a trail, mostly just using best judgement and following the cairns. Getting to the first saddle was tricky as I got off the "trail" and had a really tough time navigating where exactly the GPS route was taking me with spotty coverage. After the first major saddle the trail was much easier and got me up there before noon, coming down was even easier spotting the cairns. All in all it was fairly difficult but mostly because of the 14.2 extra miles added on by starting back near Palm Canyon, would have been worth it to take another vehicle and start closer.
