Ascent Trip Report

beautiful woods. went 1.1 mile up shandaken brook from Seager hollow. Cut right up a steep face until reached the first flat area. Got confused looking at and walking little toward Graham thinking it was doubletop due to the instructions on catskill mtnr. could not see tower without binocs. figured it out with gps, cut left uphill. more variation of moderate and steep terrain with one or two flat areas. ami lunched at the flat area before the final ascent. to this point it had been a beautifully bring and sunny day, not cold enough to make us cold. sun ducked behind a cloud around this time making me eager to complete the hike. I hiked without mittens to the top and took what felt like hundreds of photos. It took a little work to find the canister at the top because it was the only dense forest we saw up there with tight packed conifers. signed the can and did gorilla pod shots just before a 3500 club winter weekend party arrived. guy in weird bright blue snowpants offered us whisky. On descent feet hurt a bit but made good time with several nice butt slides and a minimum of falling, except for when ami walked into a larger branch and it stunned her and she fell down. I turned around to see her crumpled on the ground motionless. She did not respond to my urgently calling her name. it was the worst/scariest feeling i ever had on a hike maybe tied when i thought i was going to die for hours.
