Ascent Trip ReportSome snow cover for the first half or so, then it got a bit deeper, maybe 3 inches or so along the second half and at the summit. Crossed several streams, some with icy spots. Hopped from rock to rock. Cool with no breeze. Very pleasant. A much easier climb than I expected. Sure, some tough sections where I climbed on my hands and knees, but not for very long. I wore microspikes and that helped, but they kept clogging up with packed snow. Views were overcast from the tower, but shifted so that I could catch glimpses of the mountains a little at a time. Several other parties seen. Saw a partridge and some grey and black birds I couldn't identify. Many varied animal tracks. The tattered, regal flag was still on the tower. On the way down, had some fun sliding on the snow on my behind which made it faster and easier!
