My way of saying Thanks by Hiking the Highpoint of the beautiful Island of Martinique on Thanksgiving Day. Being in Port of Fort of France with the Ship I decided to take a day off for Hiking and took a Taxi across the Island and get to the Trailhead. About 90 Minutes from Port. The drive itself is very scenic. At the Trailhead I told the Driver to have Lunch and wait for me while I hiked to the Top. For most part it is a nicely maintained trail of it would it not be for the slippery rocks you need to get over at the upper part even some scrambling. Definitely well worth it and quiet popular with local hikers. Was a bit cloudy midday and the view was not that great. A whole new Hiking experience in the Hot and Humid part of the Caribbean. Took me about 2 hours to the Top and a bit more than an Hour back to the Trailhead where my driver patiently waited for me to bring me back to the Ship. Definitely one of my best Peaks for the Year. Note: Martinique is a French Island and communication in English can be a bit challenging.
