Ascent Trip Report

Wonderful day for a hike. My first trip back out on the trails in a long time. Ginger is a master in navigating via topo only and as it turns out, I came to appreciate it more than I would have thought.
Our initial plan was to follow one of the washes up/back. The way up was fun and challenging with a few Class 4s (but these were not extremely high). Would have hurt though if the ascent was not successful. Thankfully, they all were.
Once on the summit and having a bite for lunch, we started our trek down. In no time, I was hit with major spasms in both legs. The remaining trip down was going to be painful. Ginger is the bomb...patient and helpful in deciding which way down was best. I would go anywhere with her in the lead.
I decided my knee braces were cutting off the blood flow in my legs, so removed them (ACL in 2000 and loose knee after surgery was the purpose of the brace). Once removed, my legs improved and we navigated our way down using the easiest route available; hence the longer route down vs. up.
Reached our vehicles safely and returned home looking forward to another trip. Hopefully, I can return soon and bag 3640 and Sentenac Mountain out of Plum Canyon.
