Ascent Trip Report

I used google maps to get there and it took me on a slightly different route to the trailhead. Or I missed the turn-off for NF-2875 and google re-routed me. Either way apparently get you there.

There are no views once you reach this old lookout. Apparently it is recommended for early summer (June) when you hike "through an unbroken tunnel of showy rhododendrons splashing the hillside in shades of purple and pink".
It is amazing that this 1933 makeshift tower built of standing snags and poles is still standing.

Please stay off the lookout.
