Ascent Trip Report

After doing Mt. Gibbes, my friend, Dan, and I hiked north on the Old Mitchell Trail to an obvious starting point for a bushwhack to Mt. Hallback. Took that approach, which followed herd paths most of the way, to the summit, passing a couple deer in the process. The summit is wooded with not much for views, but there is a sign marking the top. Hung around here for a bit then bushwhacked down the north side of the mountain back to the Old Mitchell Trail, then took that to the park restaurant area, where we prepped for the ascent of Mt. Mitchell, which I had done before but my friend hadn't.
