Ascent Trip ReportVery cold but sunny day in Saranac Lake doing Tina's final Saranac 6 hike. We left from the Jack Rabbit Trail in Lake Placid and went up and over the two bumps. We looped back down the Bartlett Pond area and SOA trail to the Lake and then up the road back to the car. There were four nice lookouts along the way to the summit. I hadn't realized you had to go over a different bump first. I liked the Summit sign with the thermometer. It said 8 degrees! Other than my hands getting cold a few times due to gloves getting wet during the climb I wasn't cold at all. There was no wind at all and I had plenty of layers. We hiked down the loop with Bob, Kate, and Lizzie Morgan from Wells NY which made it fun. Always nice meeting other hikers and hearing more stories. Tina and I then went into Saranac so she could ring the bell and we went to a cute pizza place. So nice to just hang for a bit after the hike and be there for her finish.
