Ascent Trip Report

Took the standard route. Trail starts out wet and gets even wetter. To compound this, I managed to slip off a log at the stream crossing one mile in and submerged both of my boots. After 45 minutes, I got to the base of the peak and headed NW on a beeline for the summit. The woods weren’t bad and I only came to a couple cliff bands that were easily bypassed to the west. Found the rock that appears to be the high point, and checked out an area just NE that seemed about as high with a better view. Whacked ENE off the summit down to the height-of-land. This was steeper and had more undergrowth, so I recommend the direct route that I took on my ascent. From there I made good time heading back, and found an easier way to cross that dastardly stream just 30 yards east of where I had fallen in. This would be a much better hike once everything was frozen and covered in snow. 2 hrs and 19 minutes r/t.
