Ascent Trip Report

Started at the Round Pond trailhead. Other than all of us being out of shape and snow balling on the bottoms of our boots, we were making good time until we crossed the slide. At this point, it was knee deep snow and trail breaking the rest of the way. Brian was the first to put on crampons...the rest of us were being stubborn. Lesson learned...Brian usually knows best. Crampons made a huge difference on the steep terrain. Meghan is starting to figure out her winter systems but still found it difficult to keep warm after stopping for food or to put on crampons. Hands and feet tend to be the main issue though. Everyone made it to the summit and back but there were a lot of worn out people before we even made it back to Round pond.
