Ascent Trip ReportLooking to stretch the legs again and I wanted to see how the views had changed since the first time I had done this hike 18 years ago. I found some pictures in the basement from that trip and tried to take some of the same pictures on this trip to compare. It was a beautiful, warm day for mid-October. I knew it was a Friday, but I was honestly surprised at how many people were there that day. I had to park 2 parking areas up the road (just a couple minute walk), but didn't expect to see so many vehicles and then people on the trail. Made great time up and everyone was pleasant. Jax got a lot of attention, so he was happy. Made it to the crowded summit and almost lost my hat to the wind. Literally had to run after it as it tumbled across the summit! But caught it and a few good pics before heading back down to the trail junction with Porter. |
