Ascent Trip ReportFrom HWY 395 15 miles north of Bridgeport, drove 4.4 miles on Road 31, Burcham Flat Road, to Road 67, which leads to Lobdell Lake in 6.2 miles. Stream crossings were sharp drops with some large rocks - scary but doable in AWD Subaru. We continued beyond the lake on a very rough road, which I do not recommend. The hike to Patterson is on a jeep road with easy footing. We continued across the plateaus to Wheeler. The return comes to within 100 feet of Patterson's summit before descending the jeep road.
