Ascent Trip ReportOctober 21st, 2017. Started 7:45am, finished 1:45pm. Successful ascent of Brown's Peak. Done via Brown's Peak trail.
Came up the 87 north towards Payson, turned onto Four Peaks road which turns into Cline Cabin road and later into Svr Rd 143. Did it in a Jeep Compass, definitely don't recommend cars without high-clearance in case of bottoming out a bunch and ruining tires, suspension, etc. Parked at intersection of Lone Pine Trail and Svr Rd 143 about 4.2 miles back from where Brown's peak trail was just in case road conditions were gonna get me stuck. This added a total 8.4 miles to the total distance but oh well. Hiked the road up to the Lone Pine Trailhead and hiked the peak from there. Pretty nice trail, only difficult part was the scree chute near the top but nothing dangerous. Saw lots of wildlife from squirrels to deer and even coyotes.
