Ascent Trip Report

Drove to 100 yards short of the crossing in a Tacoma. Not as bad as reports state. Crossed with my mtn bike, knee deep at one spot, but slow moving, possible to hope across rocks lower down, but not with a bike. Started biking as the road increasingly worsened. on the second set of switchbacks rockfall has mad it impossible for all but four wheelers and dirt bikes to pass. once above this the grade eases a bit and you can get some good pedaling in, but then it turns pretty chossy and sandy. I probably walked my bike half of the way up. I was however able to ride it most of the way down. Plus size tires were nice to have for this one. The final scrambling along the north ridge to the peak was very fun and the views were huge on this clear day. Abajo, Henries and a snow dusted La Sal were nice to take in on this oft gazed at and seldom summited prominence peak.
