Ascent Trip ReportHad a free day and wanted a fairly short hike so I could be back for drinks in the afternoon, plus I wanted to have great views of the fall leaves. Cardigan fit this perfectly. I left from the Mount Cardigan parking lot on the west side of the park, headed up to Cardigan via the West trail, continued on to Firescrew (sweet name for a peak), back down to Cardigan, then back to the parking lot via the South trail, crossing over South Cardigan and Rimrock.
A nice somewhat chilly day in the 40s-50s, but pretty perfect. Leaves are great right now but I think we only have one more week of them!
