Ascent Trip Report

We drove up Latour Creek road from Cataldo, then turned up Boise Creek. The Boise Creek road forks right, and we missed it the first time continuing on Baldy Creek which goes on the wrong (north) side of the Latour ridge. After backtracking we found the Boise Creek turn and continued up it to the Latour saddle. This road is very narrow and brushy, so be prepared for some scratches if you are going to drive to the saddle. At the saddle we turned southeast down a jeep track toward Iron Mast Mountain. It is probably a little taller than Latour Peak- South Ridge Summit, but it is still lin Kootenai County. We walked the last mile or so, on an old jeep track that goes nearly to the summit. Great views in all directions.
