Ascent Trip Report

After my afternoon at the library I went to the trailhead to climb the HP of the Town of Farmington CT. Trip directions:

From I-84 exit on to US 6. Go west about 2 miles. Just west of the road crest there is on the left south-side of the road space to park.

At the east end of the parking is the New England Trail. Hike on it east. In 0.1 miles you will reach the blue blazed Metacomet Trail. Look at the map, then go right, south. Hike for about 0.8 miles to the top of Rattlesnake Mountain. After going under the guy cables of a communications tower, about 100 ft. further, you will come to a rock knob that is one of the possible highest points. The next three knobs are also possible highest points, 760 ft. In each case the highest rock is only a few steps to the right, west, of the trail.

My round trip hike time was about 1:10 hours.
