Ascent of Pinnacle Peak on 2017-09-27
|Date:||Wednesday, September 27, 2017|
|Ascent Type:||Successful Summit Attained|
| Elevation:||6562 ft / 2000 m|
Ascent Trip ReportDeparted from trailhead at 10 am. Trail to the saddle was still in the shadows and nice and cool. Weather at the saddle was clear and breezy. I followed a well-worn climber's path along the western ridge of the peak and scrambled up the steep, rocky section just below the summit, then up to the summit. I encountered some loose rock, but foot and hand holds were generally adequate for a safe ascent. Elapsed time from trailhead to summit was about 1 hour.
On the way down, I explored a path leading to The Castle so I could get a close look at the condition of the rock.
