Ascent Trip ReportOnce I passed Pyramid the view of Pine Mountain became partially obscured by a ridge that pops up. Near the beginning of this ridge there's a small cairn on the left side of the trail. Guessing this was the beginning of the route to Pine Mountain I went ahead and began walking up the ridge. Multiple ducks on the way up the ridge, and multiple trails - all which seemed to dead end.
I bushwacked around for a while in shorts, scratching my legs up plenty. The brush was pretty thick for shorts and made the routefinding more than I felt it was worth.
I threw in the towel and continued on to Lion Peak. On the way there saw a bigger cairn - this trail led through some trees and into a saddle with a direct view of the south side of the peak. I'm guessing this is the more commonly used route, but after all the bushwacking and what looked like more bushwacking to come I decided just to try another day.
