Ascent Trip Report

Long hike along PCT and road before final rocky scramble. Can't think of an easier 16 mile hike.

We started at the junction of the PCT and Highway 74. After a short flat section, we dropped down a bit before doing a gradual ascent up to 6,000 ft+. At a gate, we left the PCT and turned right to follow a narrow trail-like road. We took this road all the way to just below the summit. From here, we went cross-country to a false summit, from which was a short walk to the real summit. At the time of my visit, there was a benchmark and register dating to 2000.

Ken Point is the highest bump in the center. Possibly the easiest 16 mile hike? (2017-09-24). Photo by William Chen.
