Ascent Trip Report

This is a super easy hike with lots of photo opportunities. The road up is a little rough, you are going to want a four wheel drive or at least a vehicle with some clearance. There are lots of potholes and a few washout areas. That said, we did see a VW Golf at the top so it can be done (but I wouldn't recommend it).

The trail is easy and well maintained. Two miles in distance from start to top. Elevation gain (1500 ft) is evenly distributed. The view from the top is stunning. This is a great sunset hike.

A view from the top. There was some wildfire smoke when we were up there. The views are absolutely beautiful (2017-09-16). Photo by Michael Barlow.
