Ascent Trip ReportThis was a private hike with George Christiansen. We went up the Slide Mtn. trail to the summit. There is a lookout, a register and benchmark. After Slide, George did Dome BM. I looked at it and decided to take a pass and just wait for George. Good thing I did. It took George about 3 ½ hours to go out and back and it was a real bush whack. It would have probably taken me about 4 ½ to 5 hours to do it.
From Slide we decided to take a ridge down that started about a mile and a half from Slide. It worked but I doubt I would do it again. There were some real steep sections. It saved us some distance but not time. From where we started down, on the trail it would have take about 1 ½ hours. Going down the ridge, it took about 2 ½ hours and saved 2 miles.
