Ascent Trip Report

Started at the Deadman Canyon Trailhead, about 21 miles from Halfway. Followed the Deadman Trail #1869 to a large meadow just east of Sugarloaf Reservoir. Continued on confusing trails to the saddle between Sugarloaf Mountain and Deadman Point. From there hiked open country to the summit ridge. The actual summit appears to be the rocky point west of the SUGARLOAF benchmark as indicated on the USGS topo map. On the descent I hiked open country to reconnect with the Deadman Trail east of Sugarloaf Reservoir, then followed the trail back to the trailhead.
