Ascent Trip Report

Drove to Humbug Summit from Lake Almanor by essentially following dirt road 307. Reached Cold Springs where the PCT crosses the road. Proceeded back uphill to a forest road which intersected with the PCT. Nice trail. Encountered 2 hikers attempting Humboldt Peak, 2 PCT backpackers, and a family cooling down at Cold Springs. Located the sign post indicating 0.2 mile to Butte CoHP. Looked and looked for "the" spot. Finally found it. A few clarkia and yellow lupine along the trail.
