|Ascent Type:||Successful Summit Attained|
| Location:||Canada-British Columbia|
| Elevation:||7608 ft / 2318 m|
Ascent Trip ReportTo the scrambler's summit - actual summit about 5m higher but almost unclimbable. We started at 7am from camp at Helm Creek, the day after summitting Helm Peak & hiking to Panorama Ridge. Stunning views along the way, particularly of Black Tusk reflected in a mirror-like lake, then of Garibaldi Lake on the final ascent. The scramble wasn't too difficult, although I would still recommend taking a helmet due to the risk of other hikers knocking rocks down onto you. We were the first people to summit & had the tusk to ourselves for at least 30minutes, the view from the top is stunning. Highly recommend the trail from Helm Creek side (which joins the main Panorama Ridge-Garibaldi Lake trail below the ridge). 9.2km one way from Helm Creek Campground to the top of the Tusk, elevation gain/loss 1,050m.
