Ascent Trip Report

Up from Carson Spur, nice trail to close to summit(s). Went to W point first, then back to E point. They seem too close to call. Didn't have my hand level or GPS. About 1:30 up and 1:10 down from the vicinity of the highpoints. Fairly leisurely. Nicest day of my trip, blue sky and warm with 5-10mph breeze. Tons of parking, its a real USFS TH. Saw a MeetUp group of 9 women from Sacramento area, strewn about the trail as I passed them twice. Nice folks, but a fairly rugged rocky top and not all were together. I would call the W point Class 2+ or maybe even 3 as you use your hands in two spots including the very tiptop. The E point had an easier trail up to net the top, Call it Class 2, keep your trekking poles in your hands all the way to touch the top. Volcanic conglomerate, interesting stuff.
