Ascent Trip Report

Tagged summit on the way back from Russian Butte, around 7:10pm.

After Thompson Point there is an intermittent boot path and enough recent cutting to make route finding to Revolution fairly straightforward right now. Knife edge sections are indeed steep but pretty easy to traverse around. There is one short class three block in the middle of the ridge which looked sketchy from below. Going around it would involve veggie belaying over cliffs and dangerously steep dirt slopes, so with limited daylight left, we opted to climb it instead. This turned out to be the right call as the block was much easier than it looked. About 6 feet of class three, some brush, and one exposed but flat block with a bush on top of it that I was not at all ashamed to butt slide across.

Time from Rev to Thompson via ridge: approximately 40 minutes, moving quickly to beat sunset. :)
