Ascent Trip ReportParked on the road to kite lake. Arrived after dark. Took the same spot I used for my first attempt a few weeks ago. Started hiking at 550am up the trail to the saddle between dem & cam. This time I took the trail right to Cameron. The trail is very clear the whole way and not difficult. Took a few minutes on the summit and started off to Lincoln. The trail is very clear to the top. Great views at the top. The weather was bluebird so the views were great. Smacked and rested a bit then started for Bross. The trail is very clear and easy to follow. Got to the intersection where the trail (now closed) goes to the summit. I won't say that I did or did not go to the summit only to say that I'm claiming the summit because due to no fault of my own I was not allowed to reach this insignificant pile of choss. Though I did begin hiking to south Bross, once I got to the top of he ridge separating me from the peak I realized it was too far off so I returned to the trail and descended. I met 4 people ascending this section of trail. I guess each his own. I didn't find the descent as difficult as some have said. It was certainly long and steep and at times slippery but taking my time and being careful helped a lot. I don't think I'd choose to ascend this slope but that's just me. I'd rather do the loop again if I had to. |
