Ascent Trip Report

Of the 3 hikes in the Tupper Lake Triad, this one seemed to be the hardest. It's the most elevation gain over the shortest distance. That doesn't necessarily mean that it's difficult, but it did have me breathing a little harder than the first 2 hikes did. It could also have been because it was our 3rd hike of the day and I was getting tired. The trail is well-maintained, but very muddy in places. We still saw quite a few people on the trail and ran into one group that we had seen on the 2 previous hikes as well. On top of that, these people were friends with my wife's family in Long Lake and we're heading to their camp that very evening. Small world!

After 75 minutes, Megan, Jax and I were back to the truck and finished with the Tupper Lake Triad. Total hiking time on the 3 peaks was roughly 3.5 hours and only roughly 4.25 hours overall from the very start of the first to the very end of the last with including driving in between them. After that we took the pup for a quick swim in the Raquette River to wash the mud off and finished our journey to Megan's parents' house in Lake Placid, where we celebrated with a nice Big Slide IPA and relaxation.
