Ascent Trip Report

Located in the Nash Stream Forest (north of the Stratford/Groveton area) just up the road from Percy Peaks, see Percy TR for directions to its TH.
From Percy Peaks TH on Nash Stream road continue for about 5mi to the TH on the left (about 200 feet beyond the bridge that you cross). The TH is also the entrance to a private camp "Bowleys".
The trail follows the woods road to the left of the camp and after a short distance stay right at a Y junction, a small sign "Sugarloaf Trail" on a tree points the way.
Continue on the woods road always following the main road (stay right again at a second Y junction). The road gets rougher, narrower and steeper as it climbs. At about 1 1/2 miles you arrive at a clearing with evidence of an old camp, continue straight and pick up the trail (abt 1/2mi) to the summit .... with truly outstanding views of Percy Peaks and the majestic Presidential Range with the mouth of the Great Gulf as a back drop (snow capped on this day). One of my favorite view points in the Whites.
