Ascent Trip Report

Drove to Cooper Mountain Nature Park and parked to have a place to stash the car. To make this a worth ascent to capture the prominence on this little peak, I hiked down trail system in the nature park taking Blacktail to Larkspur Trail Loop until I reached a creek low point then going down to the creek to make my TH at elevation 400 I started up and through the park using Cooper Mountain Loop and the Service Road, down Kemmer Road, then the short open country to the HP. Decent views again. Public property owned by city but not fenced off but with NT signs. A short walk through the signed field but no fencing. Extra gain is in the road portion of the hike, you descend a small valley before ascending through the public city water tank and tower site.
