Ascent Trip ReportThis is more or less a tag ascent, meaning a drive to peak. From Dauphin, Manitoba, I took hwy 5 West to Grandview. There I turned north on hwy 366 where the asphalt road turned to loose gravel - a little challenging on a Ninja 650. At 40 kilometres north of said town, we arrived at the sign indicating direction to the mountain. Although I didn`t have to get a parking pass I ended up going north another 24 kilometres to Blue Mountain Resort to get the tag for memorabilia sake at a cost of 5$. The peak is actually the communication tower but there`s a wooden tower about 68 steps up that allow for a good view. The trail takes you to a ranger cabin 300 metres down the trail. That`s about it. The easiest ascent thus far. |
