Ascent Trip ReportI drove up from Las Vegas Thursday morning, arriving at the new (to me) sign for Patterson, at about 9100' of elevation. It was three o'clock, so I headed up the road towards the peak. The mosquitoes were fierce! Although only a 20% chance of thunderstorms, there were storms active in the area. The higher I got, the more the road had become a stream bed with significant washouts in progress. I made the summit, only to find a tattered U.S. flag and no register box (again). I headed over to Patterson's north west summit, then back to my truck, where I spent the night dodging mosquitoes. Early the next morning I headed for Sonora Pass to climb Leavitt.
