Ascent Trip ReportThis was, what felt like, my first real hike in months!!! I decided to hike the Osceola's as an out and back from Tripoli Rd. The first mile or so is pretty rocky but the trail constantly climbs and there are plenty of switchbacks along the way. The weather was perfect and the views from the top were amazing.
The trail to Osceola East was dry and steeper in sections with some rock scrambles (my favorite!!). There isn't a view from Osceola East's peak but someone hung an American flag above the rock cairn that marks the peak. About 0.1 miles further is a view point and there are several view points as you ascend the peak.
As you head back to Osceola, you get to climb up the "chimney." This was so much fun for me!!! I had lunch on Osceola that headed back to car. As I'm still getting my hiking legs back, the descent became painful during that last rocky mile.
This was an amazing day!!!!!
Map my hike: 9.13 miles; 6:35:26; 2,671' gain.
