Ascent Trip ReportVery pleasant day hike with my 10 year old son. We left the Underhill trailhead parking lot at 10 am. We climbed steadily through deep woods to the Paradise Lane turn off, then enjoyed a very attractive hike through blooming white rhodedendrons and over schist outcroppings. We joined the Appalachian Trail, then hiked south, climbing steeply and scrambling until we reached the summit. After enjoying spectacular views with lunch, we descended through open clearings before leaving the AT, making our way back down Underhill Trail to the trailhead after about 4 hours of walking. A classic New England hike on a beautiful summer day.
