Ascent of Mount Lockhart on 2017-06-18
|Date:||Sunday, June 18, 2017|
|Ascent Type:||Successful Summit Attained|
| Elevation:||8691 ft / 2649 m|
Ascent Trip ReportFollowed the trail up the north fork of Waldron Creek to the snotel site, cross country from there. About 150 meters east of the snotel an old road splits off to the north from the trail; found it on the descent. Following that road is slightly easier than continuing up creek from the snotel site. I stayed on climbers right of the main drainage until high in the basin then followed a broad ridge to the peak's scenic south ridge; easy class 2 travel. GPS says 7.3 miles roundtrip, 3,225' total vertical gain.
