Ascent Trip Report

Beautiful clear day, in the 60's. No clouds whatsoever. Hike started off by a stream that you cross a small footbridge to get over. Trail began with a pretty intense incline for 1st halfhourish. Leveled off to regain energy for a little while then increased again until we hit Giant Ledge. Views were amazing, if we didn't have such a gorgeous day we wouldn't have been able to see as far out as we had. Didn't realize at that time there were more ledges with amazing views, if we had we would have ventured further so we could eat lunch without so many other hikers around us. When leaving Ledge the trail went to the right to continue up Panther Mountain. Had to check our map because trail actually started to descend but that was the way it was supposed to be. Remainder of hike not too bad, the beginning was the most strenuous. Many times it leveled off where I thought we were about to be at the Summit but would continue to increase eventually. Marker showed us when we hit 3500 feet and then we were at the Summit shortly after. Couple of nice boulders to sit/stand on for great views. Total (including breaks) hike time to Summit 3.5 hours. Descent 1.5 hours.
