Ascent Trip Report

North East Ridge From East Pahsimeroi TH. Another visit to my favorite area in Idaho. Only a couple of old ski tracks into the lowest bowl. Nobody else around. Nice snow for crampons gave way to the east sides slush as the day heated up significantly. A couple tricky sections on 70 degree slopes to bypass on the north side on hard snow were fun, much preferred to the loose rock after this place melts out. The north face is amazing with many couliors that look passable, but upon closer inspection all cliff out at one place or another meaning there is now "easy" way directly up the north face. Upon descent many point releases came off and were fun the watch spill over various cliff bands. I was going to do Church and Donaldson via the Sinners Welcome route, but was pretty beat and realized that in order to beat the even hotter day to come I would need to wake up at 3 AM, something I could not bring myself to do after multiple 5 hour nights of sleep and a couple rough peakbagging days in a row. Instead I visited the amazing warm springs and the tropical fish therein and then hiked Hawley peak, a great and seaminly forgotten 2000+ ft prominence peak situated in the middle of the Little Lost valley with spectacular views of Bell, Diamond and the main Lost River Range.
