Ascent of Denny Mountain on 2017-06-06
|Date:||Tuesday, June 6, 2017|
|Ascent Type:||Successful Summit Attained|
| Elevation:||5520 ft / 1682 m|
Ascent Trip ReportEvening ascent of Denny. Some brush on the lower sections, then consistent snow. Followed chair 1 then chair 2 up the large bowl. Ascended to the saddle between the summit pinnacle and the top of chair 2, then straight toward the peak. Following beta on summitpost, we found the large hemlock on the left (with a nice place to stow ice axes), where the scramble route begins: https://www.summitpost.org/the-summit-pinnacle-of-denny/70878/c-150958. Some spicy moves up the narrow chimney to the summit, but with good holds and no exposure until you get out of the chimney. Quick descent down in fading light. Not much glissading due to hard snow that was a little rough on the tush.
