Ascent Trip ReportI visited 17 more Queen Anne's MD county candidate HP areas on Tuesday May 30th 2017. The sloping is very subtle, and you are going to walk around a lot wondering just what is highest. You will rely on maps to say what is highest, and often GPS to get you to those highest points.
Perhaps I will write up a fuller trip report. Here are two bits.
Chip Clark's #32, which = the Spot Elevation area of Adam Helman's map set. I visited the location of the spot elevation, 89', to within a few horizontal feet. It is one of the few that you have to go into the woods, although only for about 30 feet. As I looked towards my car parked on the Woods Road, the ground looked like it sloped up. It wouldn't take much sloping up to get greater than 90'.
Chip Clark's #33 and #34. I don't see what Chip Clark based his comparison of #33 vs. #35 on. However, comparing #33 to #34, #33 appears to be substantially higher than #34. Since #34 is >= 80', that would appear to make #33 >= 85', and a must visit.
I got one more ignore by inspection (IBI) point #36 on 6-1-2017. I have been to 25/41 possibles, including everyone that Bob Packard visited and all the ones Chip Clark thought should be visited. The remainder Chip Clark had labeled "IBI". If I were more obsessed, and wished to make another trip, I can think of at least 4 more IBI points that I could visit.
