Ascent Trip Report12:00 TH
That road is rough, maybe beats the Middle Fork road, but is shorter.
Was confused that the road actually crosses the creek because I read something about fording it on the Summitpost page, then I realized there would probably be less bushwhacking if I went back and took the other old (remnants of a) road a couple hundred yards further up and crossed there. Bushwhacked for a couple hundred yards, then very gradually it got better and better. Only in a couple places did I see signs of possible footprints.
14:50 - ~15:10 Summit
Some steep snow on the way up, I was thankful it was quite soft so did not pose a problem or require very much care.
On the way back I bushwhacked all the way to the road that crosses the creek, avoiding a ford. I do not recommend this, as it was a bit more bushwhacking. I didn't realize it until later but all told I ended up with quite a bit of scratches on my legs.
Tried to drive over to The Rockies and Mt. Elbert on the way home, but could not find a way through on the logging roads.
