Ascent Trip Report

Beautiful weather and fair snow conditions made for a great hike yesterday. We took the direct route on the way up to gain some scrambling and snow climbing experience, ice axe definitely required on this route. The snow was fairly stable in the morning, but was significantly softer by the afternoon when we came back down. We took the standard route back down which included a short glissade and much safer footing in the soft snow.

Be very careful of the cornices this time of year, we saw at least one group of less experienced climbers wandering close to the edges without realizing the risk.

The views from the tower were amazing, just be prepared to walk in soft/deep snow once you clear the tree line.
