Ascent Trip ReportMount Zirkel was a lot further in than I thought when I started my hike. I am recalling this ascent that actually occurred some time ago so some details are vague. I made as much of a circuitous route as possible. This initially took me past Gold Creek Lake which was absolutely beautiful. Following the trail up, I entered what I believe was Slovonia basin and up a pass I can't recall. Once I summited I came down from an adjacent trail and went back to FS Rd. 401. One thing I do recall that it was either June or July when I summited and I was hit with a snow flurry on the summit. Overall it was a good trip, but felt like many miles round trip.
