Ascent Trip ReportMy first solo hike in the Whites, I did an in & out of the Willey Range Trail over mounts Willey, Filed, and Tom. Slow going in pretty deep hard packed snow. I was surprised to find snow at all because it was clear and warm down below. I tried to find the northwest peak of Field and the north peak of Willey, but the areas off trail would have been very hard to negotiate in these conditions. Took a detour on the way down to Ripley falls, totally worth it.
11.7 miles round trip.
2860' vertical gain.
4919' cumulative elevation gain.
7:30 total trip time.
