Ascent Trip Report

This summit required 2 visits, all as per this one only TR.

VISIT #1 DATED 2015-09-22 ..... no access
From the junction of Hwy #249/6e Rang (south of Saint-Francois-Xavier-de-Brompton) we went northwest on 6e Rang for 4.8km to its end at turn-around .... an excellent gated logging road continues (open on this day), signed "Private Property, No Trespassing". We later found out that permission is from the owner Tony Vigneux, phone # 819-829-8210.
We drove in and found logging work in progress, huge piles of cut logs. The workers couldn't give us permission, gave us the owner's phone number.
The good logging road heads northwesterly and at about 1.7km from the turn-around comes to a crest south of the summit - from where one can bushwack north .6km to the summit.

My guess is that this climb can be done from the locked gate with no problems, late in the day (after the worker's have left) or on a Sunday morning .... 3.4km road walk plus a 1.2km wack RT.

VISIT #2 DATED 2017-05-17 ..... successful logging/woods road/wack, 3.6km, 1:10 hours RT
I was in the area so I stopped in, and as luck would have it, was able to summit.
The gate was open with no signs in sight so I drove in .5km and parked at a few trailers.
I walked the logging road about 1.2km to its crest (45.54013,-72.13750) with an old woods track on the right. One could actually drive to here with permission, however without permission I think its best to park before the gate at the turn-around (see below).
From the road crest I followed the old logging road generally north .6km to the summit area (where side roads went off in different directions, I stayed northerly). Not much of a summit, I rate this one for "Peakbaggers only".
I passed a logging truck in both directions, they just waved. A tractor with a friendly dog pulled up behind me just as I got back to my van.
The gentleman, who acted like the owner, asked "Where did you come from."
"I just went for a hike to the summit (pointing the way), the gate was open so I drove in as I didn't see any signs."
"Well cars shouldn't be here, trucks go in and out all the time."
He didn't question the hike, so I'm assuming he's OK with that.

"I HAVE NEVER BEEN LOST, BUT I WILL ADMIT OF BEING CONFUSED A FEW TIMES."
