Ascent Trip ReportWith my last name of "Stewart," spelled the same way as this highpoint, I have a bucket list of climbing any peak with the same name as I travel, although I was not optimistic that this highpoint would be possible, since the map showed that it was within the boundaries of Camp Grayling, a military reservation. I approached from the southeast and reached a security gate where the guard was quite pleasant, but he assured me I could not get entrance unless I had a military ID. At nearly 70 years old I probably could not join the army now even if I wanted to, so I will have to let this highpoint go, although the guard told me he was 75 years old! Trespassing on private property is one thing; trespassing on a military base is quite different! I was surprised to discover during my conversation with the guard that he had never heard the name Stewart Hill and I had to show him the location on my topo map to determine if it was within the reservation boundaries or not.
