Ascent Trip ReportI arrived at the entrance to an upscale housing community with an unmanned security building southeast of Mount Christie, but no posted signs. From here my GPS indicated I was only .13 miles from the summit, so I parked my car on the other side of the road and started my climb. It only took 3 minutes to reach the top, which was not at all like the description I read on one trip report. It was just a clear, flat area and there were no tennis courts nor gazebo. The highest point seemed to be a large rock on the southeast side of the summit, but it looked like it had been placed there. The view to the south and east were some of the best I have experienced from any Michigan county highpoint, but I imagine someday there will be a house built right on this spot. |
