Ascent Trip Report
I was going to spend the weekend in Eastman again after going the week before and planned a lot of hiking as Luiza worked on both Saturday and Sunday. The idea was to take a detour on the drive up through Thetford Mines, bagging a couple summits on the way. I hopped in the car around 16:00 on Friday and made my way across the St-Laurent river during rush hour. I was finally heading South on HWY 73 past the bridges at 17:00 and drove all the way to the hill where Lévis High Point sits. I stopped on the shoulder to claim the HP and shift a few of the 6 tires in the trunk that were obstructing my blind spots before driving off again. I stopped for gas at exit 108 and was then on the way towards my first real ascent of the evening, le Grand Morne.
After talking with Ben Lostracco early in 2018, we agreed that a rocky ridge visible fro the northbound highway lanes might be the true high point. I returned in early September that year.
