Ascent Trip ReportFrom Hwy 5, take Dog Creek Road exit and drive west approximately 9.5 miles on Dog Creek Road to a hairpin turn (pavement ends in 3.8 miles, but the dirt roads are in good-to-excellent condition for logging trucks...drivable for most passenger vehicles). Leave Dog Creek road before it takes a sharp turn to the north and take the logging road south that ascends the ridge and connects with Dog Creek Mtn. After about 1.5 miles, you reach the north end of the Dog Creek Mtn. Continue another 2.5 miles to a junction with a good jeep road on the left. Follow this road for 0.75 mile to another road junction. The road on the left goes to the summit, but begins to get rather steep here. Either drive 0.8 mile to the summit (4WD recommended)or park the car and hike up this section. The road ends at the summit where one can find a benchmark. Good views to the south, east and north.
