Ascent Trip Report

***Private Outing***

Today we finished the portion of our driving traverse of the Santa Ana Mtns along Main Divide Truck Trail (MDTT) that we were unable to complete last weekend (4/15/17) due to getting a flat tire on our way down Modjeska Peak. We drove in on the Bedford Motorway to the MDTT and parked in the pull-out located at the NW side of Bedford Peak. A quick walk up to the summit, sign the register, and we were back at the truck.

From Bedford we drove over to Pleasants Peak. We actually drove a bit too far; we passed the standard and legal route up to the peak via a southerly traverse up its northern ridge. Instead we walked up the road to the radio towers, passing the helipad on our way, crawled under the locked gate, and followed the road past the radio facility to the summit. We signed the register, and returned the way we came to my truck.

From Pleasants we continued driving on the MDTT to the summit of Sierra Peak. We signed in on top and then drove back out the way we came in.

Nice day, great views. The track shows our route including the drive up Bedford Motorway and along the MDTT to Sierra Peak.
